Prestigious luxury villa built in the mid of seventeenth century, just 50 km away from the center of Milan.
In the part of the flatland of Lodi’ hills stands this fine property, dominating the surrounding countryside and the town where it is located, making an effect of embracing the whole area. This prestigious 17th century villa we can call for sure a small jewel of the Po valley. Milan can be reached easily with a short helicopter flight of about 20 minutes or just one hour by car; when Pavia is just 34km away, Piacenza – 27km, Cremona – 53km and Brescia – 93km.
The villa dating back to the seventeenth century consists of a main body that has an exceptional perspective view towards the back garden which visually turns into the neatly cultivated fields. In the central body of the villa are located various rooms, including on the first floor the ballroom with the richly frescoed ceiling ideal for parties and events that need a prestigious location. On the left side of the central body there are two large manor apartments, while on the right side there are numerous rooms including a space that was once used as a riding track and then as a spinning mill where the features are still visible – round openings and the characteristic arched ceiling made of terracotta bricks. The second post-war period unfortunately marked the beginning of a slow but inexorable decay that was then recovered starting from the mid-70s, when, purchased by the current owners, it was slowly and continuously the subject of restoration and recovery works that still continue. However, still remains lot to be done to be able to use the villa in its entirety and bring it back to its ancient splendor.
Getting to the villa from the nearby provincial road is a remarkable visual experience. The entrance gate encloses the entrance garden which is embraced by the villa and makes a trip back in time. The visitor cannot do anything else then imagine descending from a carriage drawn by magnificent white horses with the orchestra playing the music and inviting to the dance. The rear garden, thanks to the tall trees present, gives coolness and shade on hot summer days and discreet shelter for romantic walks.
The villa is suitable as a venue for a foundation or a museum. It can be the right residence for holding conferences or corporate events, as well as receptions.
